Arte Público Press Arte Público Press, based out of the University of Houston, is the nation’s oldest publisher of contemporary and recovered literature by U.S. Hispanic writers. In 2018, Arte Público received the Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Books Critics Circle.
